Best Oven Baked Hot Wings

You just can’t stop eating these once you start. My family and I were getting together with some friends one Friday evening for some pizza and chill time. I figured we needed something other than pizza, and i had some chicken wings in the freezer. This turned out great, and our friends raved about the wings. I tripled this recipe and the 4 of us ate them all. I don’t have a fryer in the house (in fear that i would burn our house to the ground) so i needed to find another way to do a great crispy wing. It sounds odd to boil the wings before baking i know, but it allows them to cook in the water without needing a longer baking time, and risking them being cremated.

Serves 2

1 lb chicken wings
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon salt
1/2 cup louisiana hot sauce (sometimes i do half louisiana and half franks buffalo)
1 tablespoon butter

Fill a large pot half way with water and then add the first 4 ingredients
Bring water mixture and wings to a boil; boil for 15 minutes
Transfer wings to a baking sheet coated with cooking spray
Bake wings on “Broil” (high) for 15 minutes on each side (For crispier wings, cook longer on each side, maybe 20 minutes per side).
While waiting for wings, combine the Hot Sauce and butter in a microwave safe container and cook in microwave for 2 minutes or until melted. (You can cook the sauce longer for a thicker sauce).
